A Norway spruce from West Virginia is headed to the Capitol as this year's Christmas tree

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — A 63-foot-tall Norway spruce from West Virginia’s Allegheny Mountains is on its method to the West Garden of the U.S. Capitol because the 2023 Christmas tree.

Crews have been snowed in on Wednesday within the Monongahela Nationwide Forest as they harvested the tree of selection for this 12 months’s vacation season.

The tree was chosen by Jim Kaufman, Capitol grounds supervisor for the Architect of the Capitol, in response to the USDA Forest Service.
